Xpad overview
Xpad is a basic text editor that you can use to create simple documents. Xpad can be used to create or edit text (.txt) files, or it can be used to code web pages.Because Xpad doesn't automatically alter text, it can be useful when you need only to write in pure text.
To install and run Xpad - since it's cross-platform-like you'll need the .NET framework. You can get it here if you need it.
